Family Sessions
Think back to a year ago today. What did you kids love to play with? What were their favorite foods and clothes? What couldn’t they do then that they can do now? Makes your heart hurt, doesn’t it? I know. In a year from now, there will be new favorite things and milestones passed. Let’s get some photos of this chapter of your family’s life before it sneaks quietly to the next (great) chapter.
Here are a few thoughts about family photo sessions:
No one should wear something they’re uncomfortable in. Everyone is included in this. Even you. These photos are not about your clothes but the gorgeous people in the clothes and the love and connections between them.
You may not want to be in too many photos but this is your best chance to get photos with your kids that aren’t selfies. Your kids love you and they’ll love looking at photos of you with them. And when they’re in high school, they may look at the photos and say, “Mom! You were so pretty!” (Like one of mine did.)
your session
Where you have your session is up to you. We can go for a walk in the park or a favorite place. Or, we can spend time at your home. It makes sense to be in a place you and your kids enjoy being. We’ll spend about an hour together. It will go fast and you won’t need to worry about anything. I’ll let you know where to be and what to do. We’ll have some fun together.
After the session, I’ll choose and edit about 30 photos from our time together to edit and share with you. You’ll be able to view the photos in an online gallery. You can then decide what you’d like to buy from then session: digital files, prints or both.
Pricing
The cost for a session is $250. The session fee holds the time and date of your session.
Your session fee includes travel, prep, photographing, and editing time, as well as a private gallery uploaded for your enjoyment within 3 weeks. You're free to buy any and all prints or digital files once you've seen the images.
DIGITAL FILES
Single file: $150
Complete set of digital files and complimentary set of 4x6 prints: $550
DIGITAL FILES, PRINTS OR BOTH?
Great Things About Digital Files:
You can make as many prints as you like. You can make a holiday card or birth announcement and send it everyone you know.
They are great for wallpaper on your computer or phone.
Digital files are easy to attach to an email and send to your mom.
You can store them online away from floods, fire and the sticky hands of your toddler.
Not So Great Things About Digital Files:
They need a screen to be seen.
Digital files have a way of sitting, rarely viewed, on a computer hard drive or in the cloud, waiting to be printed for the grandparents.
Hard drives fail. Digital files need to be backed up.
If you love to make photo books or have a favorite place to have your photos printed, digital files are the way to go.
PRINTS:
Small Prints (up to 8x10) are $35
Mounted prints larger than 8x10 start at $50
Larger sizes are available as well as photo books and albums.
Great Things About Prints:
They can be displayed on the wall or a desk and your kid's beautiful face can take you by surprise when you walk by.
You can tuck one in an envelope, put a stamp on it and make your mom's day when she opens her mailbox.
If you have a print on the wall or in an album, they are unlikely to be lost.
Kids can look at them without a screen.
Not So Great Things About Prints:
They can get wet and wrinkled when carried around by a toddler.
They have to be dusted.
That's all I've got. I love prints.
